The PSN is a true piece of unadulterated garbage. For example, tonight a
"SYSTEM UPDATE IS REQUIRED" to version 2.42. This is the 3rd update in less
than 2 weeks. First 2.40 which bricked a bunch of systems, then 2.41 which
was supposed to fix that, then 2.42 that probably fixes some other garbage
that wasn't caught in 2.41.
So, I'm trying to download this thing, and I keep getting SERVER TIMEOUT
messages, downloads that get about 2% before it cuts me off, and general
unstable bullshit, just like I'm used to with Sony's little "baby."
I'm about done with this $600 brick. I'm truly upset at how the PSN works
(or doesn't, that's actually my point) and I think that us Sony owners
deserve better than this wonky piece of crap.
Rant off.

I've never encountered any issues with downloading. I am
however, sick of the constant firmware upgrades.
I often want to just get a quick 20 minutes play in here and
there, but can I? Nope, first I have to download the
firmware, then I have to install it. By this time I've moved
to my PC and doing something else.
I won't mind if I could do the update when I choose to but
it will not let you connect to the internet until you do it
so multiplayer or just taking a look at the store is out.
Since I don't have 2.42 yet I guess that rules out a quick
game of COD when I get home.
