I would like to take it for a testrun, but it is pay the $39.99+tax or
zip.  This seems a lot of money to pour out just for a game that I
have no guarantee of liking.  Annoyed by this.

Also, as I asked in another thread, does this game feature bots?  The
presumption that there will be a lot of people to play is killing the
addition of bots to a bunch of games.  Developers think they have the
next hot multiplayer game and they won't add bots to it.  Bots I feel
are important because you can adjust the difficulty level of you
opponent(s) with bots, and also in the event a game doesn't take off,
at least it is playable.

It's multiplayer only, so it would probably be pretty difficult to do a demo

Of course you are.
You need a reason to bitch. I mean it is a PS3 game after all.

If it had a semblance of single player, I would be interested.  I buy
stuff, for crying out loud.  I own Resistance.  I also bought multiple
games over the Sony Network.  I own flOw for crying out loud (do
you?).  Also included Calling All Cars, Tekken Dark Resurrection
(PS3), and also Super Star Dust.  So, get off my back.  I am biased
and opinionated, and have preferences.

How many games do you own for the PS3 boody?

None.
I sell games off as soon as I am done with them.
I have most of the download games, which is what I did with Warhawk.
I have played over 25 titles for the PS3 so far, downloadable games
excluded.

I only own 3 games for the 360 Gears, Madden 08 and Biosock (which I have
yet to open).
Now that Warhawk is out I'm not sure I will.

Bioshock is great single player and worth playing.  As for myself, I
would of gone with Madden, but I am on a ban with EA at this point.

Anyhow, I had hopes there would be bots, since it was compared to
Battlefield.  If it were like Battlefield with bots and the like, then
it would go on my must consider list, and look to try if not buy list.

With myself, I just don't play much against human opponent's because I
like to know what kind of opponent I am getting and adjust skill level
accordingly.  I can give you one example of my disappointment on the
360 side.  I spoke to some developers working on a FPS release for
2008 for the 360.  Due to Live being about, they didn't feel a need to
put  any bots in, eventhough it has a single player mode.  They said
it is not Unreal Tournament.  So, how we have a case of the
presumption of humans flocking to your title meaning that you don't
need to put bots in.  This annoys me really.  It is also why I am
disappointed by Warhawk, eventhough the original Playstation game I
believe did have a single player mode.

No, there are no bots at all.  I set my own server up and shunted the
user limit down to 2 people just so I could tool around and get used
to the controls.

I don't know, the game is OK but not worth the asking price.  I'll try
it some more tonight, maybe it will grow on me.  The controls were
pretty imprecise making it hard to aim, and the maps are REALLY wide
open which is necessary for the jets, but if you don't have one handy
it can be a slog.  I think I'll like SOCOM a lot more.

In all seriousness, I would wait for a demo before putting down 40-60
on Warhawk.  I was hoping this would get me through to Halo, but no
dice.

I'm pretty sure one of the features is the ability to only portion a small
piece of the map, if you want it like that.  This gives you the option of
using the whole map if you want these strategic battles or just a small area
if you want mass carnage...it's all how you setup the server.
