BUT IT'S NOT SEGA's FAULT  - the game division's (Sega) profits are UP.

it is SAMMY that is to blame here.  pachinko sales being down is the
main reason.

Sega should get away from Sammy, and join with either Matsushita /
Panasonic or Microsoft.

I agree with your idea of Sega merging with Microsoft. However, it's
already likely to happen. Microsoft loves to buy companies that are
financially unstable. I would love, personally, for Sega's franchises
to be exclusive to the XBOX.

That would be dumb even though Sega doesn't offer much in the way of gaming
nowadays anyway.

Exactly, that's why they need to return to the days where they had
gobs of venture capital to blow through coming up with wild new game
ideas (as they had under CRI from the late 80s through the early years
of this decade).  Microsoft certainly has the capital to poor into
rejuvenating Sega as the top designer of unique software titles
worldwide, and they have the most to gain in brand recognition from
those exclusives.  Heck, they could even benefit by renaming the 360
with a Sega logo in Japan, at least then they'd stop to see what was on
the screen over there...

sure.. if you want Sega to go backrupt considering how badly their
games sell on the Xbox. VF4 probably sold more than all the Xbox Sega
games put together.

When you have a four times the user base and the Xbox is non existant
in Japan that's easy to do.
