You need to head over to the alt.games.warcraft group, where WoW is just about the only topic of conversation, and a considerable amount of it, too. Several people there are on the Feathermoon RP server and/or the Llane PvE server, among others of course.

I'm interested in hooking up with CSIPGers that I recognize. I'm definitely not interested in starting on a new server. :) I've found that CSIPGers are cool, and those cool people would be fun to game with in WoW. While there are probably cool people in a.g.w, I dont' know them.

LOL but then you'd know some cool people in a.g.w. right? Lurk it out for a while, it's definitely not as bad as the web forums.

I'm on Argent Dawn, btw--Kem, level 38 night elf hunter, and a couple alts I don't dare play much lest my friends completely outlevel me. (Besides, I like the hunter playstyle.)

No, but seriously, my wife and I are going to be playing soon. (We have to finish the original Neverwinter Nights campaign first... we're JUST about to enter chapter 3, I think.) We both got our WoW Collector's Editions during those few days last week when EBGames unveiled their secret stash (at almost double MSRP). We do intend to play on an RP server, but not sure yet if it will be Argent Dawn... they're pretty high pop these days aren't they?

For what it's worth, despite being one of the high-population servers, Argent Dawn seems to have been having a lot fewer problems than many other servers. (Oh, hell--now I've jinxed it!)

It's the main reason I haven't gotten into WoW yet.

Josh Mayfield - 18 Jan 2005 17:32 GMT > Have you tried playing NWN online? It's the main reason I haven't gotten > into WoW yet. We haven't. And to be honest, if we had the option to play World of Warcraft the same way we currently play Neverwinter (private two-player game on the home network), that's what we'd do. The only reason we're interested in WoW is that as far as I can tell it's our only other option for a deep role-playing experience where both of us can play- but we're not necessarily required to group or fight with other players.
We will very likely return to Neverwinter in the future- probably the official expansion packs and premium modules. The original campaign is just very long (especially if you play it like us, exploring everywhere and looting everything) and we're going to need a break from it once we're done.
I don't know whether I've mentioned this before in this newsgroup, but I've struggled for a long time to find games both of us could play together. We have a couple of consoles so we can play co-op games like BG: Dark Alliance and D&D Heroes, but those games are pretty short and limited. On the PC, I thought Dungeon Siege would be an option, but you can't save your fricking game or hire henchmen/pack mules in multiplayer mode. (I REALLY hope they address this in Dungeon Siege II.)
Darkstone I think might fit the bill, but even though I think it's kinda cool, I just don't see us playing it through to the end. It's been a while since I played it, but I think there were some annoyances like you always had to eat, and you had to deposit money in a bank otherwise you'd lose it if you got killed.

Argent Dawn is very high pop. If you can't stand the idea of having to wait in a queue to log in during peak times, don't go for AD. There's not ALWAYS a queue, but for example, Sunday night some of my friends were waiting about 10 minutes to get in.
Also some of the busier parts are kind of Laggy. Blizzard made the mistake of having ONE city (per faction) be the "Auction House" city where you can go to place things for sale, etc. So naturally it's the most populated city by far, and of course, since so many people are in one spot, it gets kind of laggy especially on mediocre PC's.
This is going to be addressed in a patch where ALL the cities will get access to the Auction House and they'll be linked.
The advantage to a high-pop server is that it's VERY easy to find groups of people to play with. But if that's not a priority for you, then you might want to avoid it.
I don't know which RP servers are less populated but I'm sure there are some. I know that Argent Dawn was one of the first 3 RP servers they put up, so naturally it's got a lot of the original players who got the game week one.
