I rolled a pally recently (lvl 31) currently.  I decided it was time
to learn how to heal as I've always rolled DPS classes before.  I'm
not power lvling this toon its gonna be on teh slow boat.  I'm mainly
lvling in groups so I can learn how to heal.  So here's my question,
at low lvl is it worth building a healing set?

I'm currently lvl 31 almost 32 I have all my gear set for me (ret/
prot) all the way to lvl 50 or so.  I got run throughs in SM/RFD and a
few other places by guildies so I have the full Scarlet set herods
shoulders and the axe off him as well as the triune amulet and tons of
other twink dps pieces.  Since I'm trying to learn how to heal, I'm
trying to figure out if its better to build a +healing set or get a
really +int heavy set for when I play healer.

i've got the healing cape from WSG pvp and a healing neck,  I was
gonna get the healing mace from RFC as well.  The plan is to get item
lvl 35+ items then get the +81 healing on the weap get a sheild that's
"of healing" if I can find one, and then get a pair of "of healing"
pants and put the healing thread on them.

I currently have 1900+ mana unbuffed, so I can only do about 10 big
heals or so.  i'm thinking if I get the chant and the thread and 4 or
so peices of pure +heal then I can put pure +int pieces everywhere
else.  I'll have 300+ healing possibly more and i'd really like to
have 2500 mana unbuffed. tell me what you think.  Bear in mind this
toon has dps/stam gear already, so no worries soloing.  I'm just
trying to lvl purely in instances right now.

It is very easy to level purely on instances at level 31. You'll run
RFK, SM, RFD, Ulda (ugh), ZF, etc. As a pally, you shouldn't have a
problem finding a group; just idle in LFG and do your own thing while
others put together your group.

The instances you'll be healing aren't high enough for you to require
uber healing gear and specs in the Holy tree. Go to the AH and run
searches for "the eagle" and "intellect." It can be kind of expensive
to constantly update your healing gear, and you may run into
competition with the cloth drops in instances. At some point, you'll
get Blessing of Light, which will allow for you to do bigger heals to
the tank. At the risk of pissing off the DPS, who want Might or Wisdom
buffs, you can hit the tank with Light and the rest with Salvation to
make the tank/healer's job even easier.

I've just started playing with an Ace mod called ClosetGnome, which
does lightning fast gear switching. I have three options for it:
Tanking Gear, Healing Gear, and Striptease (I'm a female blood elf,
you get the picture). I think a regular mod for this would be
Outfitter (not sure). I love being able to completely swap out my
armor in one click.

In healing gear, my lvl 21 Pally has 1600 mana unbuffed :) I found that I
was healing ok in ret gear (500-odd mana) but would run out of mana when
healing groups. So I visited the AH and bought some "owl" gear as well as 2
+healing items. I look kinda funny in a pink and red robe, but I can heal
like a champ :) I use Item Rack for fast clothing changes. BTW, I'm specced
ret so far.
