I don't believe they are junking anything. might be modifying some things,
but to be honest the concept is the same as it always has been. still
pushing pvp but also giving you rewards for doing so. you get attribute
modifiers for participating in the galactic war. as you progress you receive
items that enhance your attributes and you have the ability to call I troops
to assist you.
they have already given you certain enhancements to attributes depending on
your profession. the next step  was going to be according to your species it
would also change, but people voiced wanting to have a species respec so
they can take advantage of having the right species for your profession but
now you get to choose your past. which will change your attributes and
abilities.
so you know, it will always be about the galactic war
the rebel always win.
