Hi,
Help.....
I know it's a bit late... but I have only just discovered this great game (I
must have been off world!)  I have just entered the lift to the surface at
the end of the 'We've got hostiles' section... I enter a lift (to the
surface), I activate the lift, it starts to rise,  then a 'loading' msg
appears (like it does), then the lift stops, I can't move and my life just
ebbs away until I die!
Is this a bug, or is there another way out?
Perhaps I have a corrupted file?
I have tried umpteen times to do this... moving to differant positions in
the lift don't help... I have tried climbing the lift cables... but that
don't work...? :((

Any help appreciated... ;)

Hi Dave,
Your first comment is right.  Its a common bug.  First of all,
download and install the updated patch from:
http://games.sierra.com/games/half-life/support.html.

Then see if everything's ok.  If not, then move around the lift, trying not
to stay in the middle.  Jumping and crouching often helps.  Half Life 2 is
only about 4 months away....can you complete it on time?!?!

It's a common and annoying bug. Try standing in the center and jump up
and down as the elevator goes up. It nearly always works for me.

I just discovered the game early this year also. It's a great one.

Hope that helps,

Erik

Thanks for the advice guys... I jumped around a bit in the lift, and that
worked ;-)
