Excellent game IMHO - very little to choose between the teams.  after
the last equaliser, I really didn't think they were going to do it.. but
what a magnificent last-minute dropgoal!  I almost felt sorry for the
Aussies.   Well played to both teams!  You done us proud guys!

ENGLAND! :D

Yep, terrific game.  I think the best side one in the end, but it was darn close
:)

Congratulations, all you English folk.

After the torrent of abuse poured over the English by the Australian
press for the last month, I'd like to see the headlines tomorrow
morning. Any links to Aussie press websites?

:)

oh it was only the world cup, no biggie :)  (We won, of course :P )

> but then again i hate all sports with people chasing/hitting some ball ;)

it's more of a throwing some ball and chasing after the bloke that's got
it tucked under his armpit ;)

the "world" being the U.K. and Australia - the rest didn`t notice ^_^
(just like this strange sport called "cricket")

Ah, no - we're not Americans here.. We don't make up a competition, call
it the "world series" and then only let teams from our own country (Plus
a couple of foreign countries which we can guarantee that we'll beat
easily) join in ;-)

No, that would be boring... we prefer to invent games, teach the world,
and then sit back proudly as they come back and thrash us at them.

/me puts stopwatch on the time Bold appears and points out that the
'World Series' is actually named after 'Sporting World', the magazine
that originally sponsored the competition....

(and if the magazine had been called Sports News, for instance, I'm
sure they'd still be calling it the 'News Series'....)

I must have missed more history lessons at school than I thought....
