Hi,
Its years since I played Half Life and have ditched the disk i have. I
wanna buy a new one and play again, however I now have Windows Vista
Home Premium. Will HL play on this OS without having to use program
compatibility?

Yes, it will play. HL2 has a 64-bit mode. Note that 32-bit HL2 savegames
could not be used in 64-bit HL2.

He said "Half Life", dimwit.  Not "Half Life 2".  Original HL doesn't have
a "64-bit mode".  He also didn't specify whether his Vista is 64-bit or
32-bit version.  My guess is that it will not play on either.

"Bother!" said Pooh, as he wondered why he bothered to answer.

I have Vista 64 bit Home Premium, and Half Life runs fine. So does HL2. Both
of them ran fine on my Windows XP, and XP64 machines as well. Happy gaming.
By the way, don't create a filthy beast on Spore!

Did you keep the CD Key and/or register a Steam account while the game
was installed?   If so, you can download the game through Steam without
buying the game again.
