how do I access a mod

hi,
I downloaded a mod called Obsidian and installed it, but can't find
it. How do I start the game.
I launched Half-life and looked for an option to play Obsidian, didn't
see one.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From within steam :)

No you should see it in my games along with with HL2 etc
I assume this is the Obsidian Conflict mod for HL2?

1) Check were the mod is actually installed
It has to be in eg ...\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods
- and HL2 should be in ...\Steam\steamapps\<accountid>\half-life 2

2) Whenever you install a new sourcemod you need to restart Steam and it'll
automatic give you a new link on the my games page

Hmm looks like EP1 is required?
Maybe this is the cause?

restarted steam and looked in my game folder, nothing?

Is there a certain way to access the mod during the game?

Shouldn't that be
..\steam\steamApps\sourcemods\RavenholmNCZ

You should have an item called Ravenholm

You start the mod directly from My Games not within HL2
Or try this shortcut (NB! line is broken up)

Thanks for the suggestion Peter, I do have hl2-ep1 and will install
it. I'll let you know how it turns out,
Looks like a lot of great mods out there and I really want to try
them. I think Half-life is the greatest game I've ever played. One of
these days I'll spring for ep-2.
