Okay, I've kind of decided on a BFG Tech Geforce 8600GT 256mb card (620MHz)
or an XFX GeForce 8600GTS 675MHz from Newegg. I have been reading on the
groups and reviews about needing the right fans and power supply and
connectors and I'm out of my depth here.
My current card is ATI Radeon 9250 241MHz, and my computer has an Antec True
380W thing (you see how deep the water is, into which I have been peering
with a flashlight). One of the fans says Antec 2.0.
So do you think I will have to improve my power stuff? Is my kitchen going
to be thrumbing with jet engines and, even worse, smoking? Do I need a
book, or a technician, or just a little advice?
And I thought I was doing well to plug in my gig of RAM.

well I guess you have the pci version of the 9250 so just get the new card
and see if
you PS will run it. If not then get a new PS. Antec makes a pretty strong PS
and it may run the new card with no problems.
