Hi guys, as written in the post of 6 of august I bought HL2 Christmas 2006
edition for Pc (that includes HL source, HL2, HL2 Ep1, HL2 deathmatch) at
Blockbusters and returned it because they hadn't got any steam code.
Fortunately some days after they found it and I re-bought it at the same
price.
OK, after an upgrade of my Pc I've finally reinstalled HL2 C 2006 Edition. I
put the code during installation and everything seems to be right. But...
I've 4 icons on my desktop for the above-mentioned 4 games. But only 2 games
start when I double click on them: HL2 Ep1 and HL2 deathmatch. The other two
send me on my steam account showing the prices of these game.
In the "my games" section of my steam account I find it:

- Half Life: Source Pre-Loaded Complete
- Half Life 2: Deathmatch 100%-ready
- Half Life 2: Episode One 100%-ready

Does anybody know where HL2 is and how to have 100% also in HL Source?

Surely that means that someone (the previous/original owner) has
already installed the 2 games you can't access. The steam code
has been bound to their steam ID.

As I said previousy, don't buy second-hand games that need
authentication. You agreed that was the best suggestion and did
the smart thing and returned the game.

Then you did the dumb thing and re-bought the game!

Oh well. At least you got EP1 out of it. HL2:DM was always free
with HL2 anyway, as was HL:S.

Now saying "I told you so" isn't helpful :)
But let me say that if those two games have already been installed with my
code it wouldn't be good during my installation with my new account (there's
only one code for all 4 games). And the agreement with people of
Blockbusters is that if the code isn't good they give me back my money as
they did last time.
In any case, HL2 Ep1 at 9,90 euro isn't bad and HL: Source isn't free, but
probably I have to write to Valve.
However, thanks for the answer.

Like I said, at least you got EP1 out of it. I don't know if you
can buy HL:S as a standalone, you probably can, but when I bought
HL2 it was one of the additional games that came with my "Silver"
package.
