"based on my experiences, the game could represent as broad an evolution
for the series as it saw from Half-Life to Half-Life 2."

A bold claim!

"If you reduce your scope, you can really focuse on density," pointed
out Valve's David Speyrer. Plus, with the increasing complexity of the
Half-Life universe, Valve wants to ensure that players are actually
getting all of the narrative and context being crafted into each
game--and, contrary to internet message board claims, most players
simply don't finish long games. "It's especially difficult for us to try
to tell a story across projects. Not having people finish each one is
very frustrating," Speyrer continued. "The episode trilogy can really be
thought of as Half-Life 3."

I'm beginning to regret episodic content. HL3: EP1 just didn't feel long
enough for me.

Cheers for the link

I thought it was a bit short, but there were a couple of bastard hard bits
in HL2E1 that were fantastic, and I am happy that I finished it before the
patch was released that made it easier

I hope they add some new difficulty levels. Anyone that's played any
multiplayer game (well) finds the single player experience unchallenging
by comparison.

Please don't crosspost

Like me Foolsgold visits both those groups and the post is on topic for
both.  What's the problem?

Thats how the war of words between posters/newsgroups occur and it's
easily avoidable. All you  have to do is copy and paste the message into
a different window, problem solved.

You do it your way......
Stri - 17 May 2007 17:48 GMT

It's not *my* bloody way is it?

It's a method adopted by a large majority of newsgroup posters and has
been for many many years. It works, why change it?

Do what the hell you like.

Sorry, it's my first ever crosspost and despite knowing some people's
dislike for it, it seemed harmless enough.

It is, 90% if the time.

I'm no newsgroup nazi, just trying to keep the peace.

There is nothing wrong with that crosspost at all. I much prefer
people to sensibly crosspost as it saves me having to ignore the
thread in one group and potentially miss posts to people who feel the
need to strip out groups.

Are you getting the 90% thing or shall I break it down for you?

Most cross posts are fine. They're discouraged for the reasons I've
already mentioned.

This isn't about personal preference but the group as a whole. You, can
also do what the hell you like. I'm not going to police this group. If
you help by bringing unwelcome discussion to this group then good on yer.

Then don't write "Please don't crosspost". You are the only person
that seems to have a problem with this thread being crossposted.

Stri is the only one who is willing to give out a cautionary note.
But careful or we will let him off his leash. :-)
