ads on dedicated servers - can you turn em off?

Since the last steam update those ads[1] are there, even without the
-beta option. Is there a dedicated server variable/setting to
turn them off?

[1] - ones for Portal, Left4Dead, HL2 etc.

I've been reading some more about it. Apparently it's
client-side, not server-side. Haven't found a cvar for it yet.
Still looking if you know the answer :)

Seems they can't be turned off. I noted in Steam Forums someone
posted a workaround and the moderators quickly jumped on the
post, removed the content, and threatened banning and so on.
