My m/board buggered up and knackered my gfx card and my cpu, a great excuse
to get some nice new kit.  Anyway had to reinstall XP and then started to
reinstallall my games because even though they were on my HDD they wouldn't
play.

So I have reinstalled the reatil DVD of HL2 but each time I try to start it
Steam updates but the game doesn't start.  It does this EVERY time I try to
start HL2.

So, any suggestions?

Thanks

Kev

Forcing the game to verify integrity of the game files?
Deleting ClientRegistry.blob?

The easier method is to try again later... If that doesn't work, you
might want to check out the troubleshooting pages.

Raymond

Thanks for that.  I have deleted everything related to Steam/Half-Life on
the PC, even cleared the registry.  Anyway the game has installed and wants
to decrypt but I keep getting messages about Steam being too busy, checked
the Steam servers and they're getting hammered so will leave it till later
or tomorrow and try again.

Cheers
