I signed up with Steam with an ATI coupon (remember those).
Then I paid $9.95 to upgrade the account.
Since then I have purchased a number of additional games - (love Red
October).
Given the new content that keeps appearing, while doing my tax return
(in Aus), I have thought of a way to keep the delivery channel, but
remove the need for copy protection.
The idea is this... at tax time, the government would add a "Steam
Surcharge" to every income tax return - with reductions for students
and pensioners. Developers could get a tax credit.
In this way we could all have access to Steam games and Valve would be
another step on the way to world domination....
