It was actually in EP1 but you need to enable it via the
console. If you do it sometimes causes crashes.

A bit like the blaster the striders were equipped in the pre HL2 videos

Yep. Clearly the Combine have adapated it for grenades :)

Can't wait to see the stalkers too, see what they can do.

Lots of fun to play with :) Oh, BTW, one sure way to crash your game is
to get caught in the vortex yourself. Also, no matter how high you set
sk_max_hopwire to, you can only ever have one in stock.

Ah.

Maybe that's why they didn't have the Strider's use them.
