Ok...
I have a steam account and have downloaded the dedicated server.. I run
condition zero.
Everything works fine, I opened ports on my firewall, people connect..
Everything is beautifull!!!
But... from which goddamn file does the server load its
configuration??? I have edited all server.cfg files in the steamApps
folder, and set the mp_timelimit 20 variable, but when I run the server
the timelimit is 0, the same is with all other variables. And if I set
something on the sever then the next time I run it is reset to the
defaults.
I have looked everywhere for an explanation to this!!!
Can someone tell me what where how etc..
Thanx.

Steam downloads?

I have my dedicated server stuff loaded to e:\data\srcds (using hldsupdate
tool)

I have a dedicated server in the stem account downloaded from the steam
servers. But I also downloaded the one that has the hldsupdate but when
I try tu run condition zero on it i get an error "missing file:
voiceicon.spr" and if O try to update using HldsUpdateTool.exe I get an
error "Unable to update: renamed HldsUpdateTool.exe but the file is
still there".
I tried everything with it, creating a user, updating with the user,
but no success. The same was with server.cfg files on this version.
None of them worked.
Last night I made some proggress. In the console tab of the dedicated
server window i typed exec server.cfg and got error unable to exec
banned.cfg, cuz in the server.cfg file ther eis a line that says "exec
banned.cfg" so I started to put the banned.cfg file in each folder
where the server.cfg file was :), but I always gothe same error. So
finaly I started the game, connected to the server (I had admin rights
automaticly) opened the ingame console and wrote exec server, and then
it was clear. the stupid server window console didnt show anything, but
in the game console i got the result of the server trying to execute
the adminmod addon, which I have installed. That is where I stoped last
night cuz I had to go to sleep, so now ill continue trying and If I
solve this problem I will write it down here for other people if they
will encounter the same thing.

After you have dowloaded hldsupdatetool you need to install it to the
appropriate directory

run eg
hldsupdatetool -command update  -dir "c:\data\srcds"

c:\data\srcds should be your dedicated server location

In order to install czero you need to run eg
hldsupdatetool -command update -game "czero" -dir "c:\data\srcds"

Try this

usr/pwd is optional and is not needed
