I have 'notify me' switched on then I go the custom route and choose which updates I d-load. I d-load all but WGA so no it hasn't affected me yet. Hasn't even insisted I d-load it.
Unfortunately I do still use the MS stuff (except Winamp has grown on me lately). I have my Mozilla files here but haven't installed them since my complete system re-install.

No idea, never seen Mentos in the UK or I'd be buying several packets for a little fun over the weekend. Grow up? Me? Nah, that's for other folks ;)

Anyway, none worked very well, but the polos seemed to give the best (but still not great) reaction.
Apparently, mentos work well because they have a seemingly very smooth surface - it's actually tiny particles on the surface which cause the bubbles to form quickly.

Yup. Follow the links for a really good explanation.... doesn't help tho'.... where the hell in the UK can I get some Mentos this weekend!!

There is a staggering array of options with a huge range of prices. Assuming that I could be blackmailed into mailing you some Mentos, do you have any idea what the best compromise between cost and speed would be?

Don't know - maybe coca-cola has put a ban on mentos in the UK?

Andrew - 20 Jun 2006 09:22 GMT >Don't know - maybe coca-cola has put a ban on mentos in the UK? I don't know why Coca-Cola would ban them, they don't care if people are buying the bottles to drink or blow up so long as they buy them! The UK government has probably banned them as part of our stringent and ever so well thought out anti-terrorism laws.

Not sure what a Mento looks like, but what she *might* have there is a tube of good old British Trebor Extra Strong Mints. If surface roughness is the criterion according to the science bit, I reckon ESMs may just do the job. Over to you, Shawk :)

Besides, a packet of Tooty Frooties is always well worth opening, even if they don't fizz up your Coke. (Ahhh, childhood sweetie nostalgia...)

About 2 months ago, I bought diet coke, diet lemonade and normal lemonade.
I tried:
Tic tacs, ESMs and Softmints.
(It was only to show the kids some science of course)
We got a bit of reaction from softmints, but nothing of note from the others. I gave up then, but I am now officially inspired, so I'm going to nip to a few shops and pick as many mints up as I can find.
I'll just use Diet Coke, as this seems to be a known quantity.
I'll put a page up about it over the next couple of days and post back.
