What a pain. I had it pre-loaded, but when it was finally released,
Steam asked me again for my Password. I had forgotten it, so it had
to have it re-set and the new one sent to me in an email. Once I
entered my new Password and got in, Steam said I needed to update my
vid card drivers, so I downloaded today's new Catalyst driver,
uninstalled my old one (WinXP went nuts when I did this), and
installed the new one. Then Steam slowly unlocked the pre-load before
I was finally able to start playing. The whole process took nearly an
hour. Jeez, all the hoops ya have to jump thru just to play an
add-on.
I bet the annoying part is the crashing platform. At least it is for
me....

Yeh, I've just passed there. Alyx was probably the most irritating part of
that...

Can Alyx actually die? Those bits were made even more irritating by
having to keep an eye on her while she wades into the middle of it and
just stands there, getting the crap kicked out of her. As usual, she
hangs around in corridors getting in the way too.
Just completed the game at any rate. Not that impressed. Way too short
for $20, though there are some nice-looking bits (I liked the bit
where gur pubccre jnf fubbgvat gur ebbs naq jnyyf njnl sebz gur jbbqra
ohvyqvat). Took me about three and a half hours altogether...

How does ROT13 work as functional html tags? Is there a newsreader that
will interpret that?

XNews does. It doesn't use the ROT-13 tags, you just select the text
that needs to be un-ROT-13ed and choose "View:ROT-13" from the menu.

It doesn't.

The point of using it in a newsreader is that it requires the user to
select a manual option in the program so that spoilers aren't
automatically shown. I think all Usenet clients I have used will
decode ROT13, even Outhouse Express.

There's a plugin for Thunderbird - apparently it does rot13, leet base64,
Morse Code and some others.

features than OE ;-)

Netscape Communicator has a built in option to decypher ROT13. for some
reason it isn't available in Mozilla Thunderbird by default, but a ROT13
plugin can be easily found.
