Sin Emergence? Only bout 6hrs long but its cheap, intensive at times and
good fun.
FEAR? Much longer (more expensive), challenging gameplay and puts your PC
to the graphics test?
Quake4? Can be had a little cheaper now. Doom3 type graphics but the games
more fun?
Google those, look at a few reviews, see what you think.
All of the above run well and look good on fairly high settings on a 2.8
Barton, 1.5GB RAM and an X800XT PE.

I fancy FEAR but wonder if my 2400+ XP and 9800 128 pro is a bit low spec to
run it properly?
Does FEAR use Steam?

You wont get all the bells and whistles but it is pretty scalable without
becoming ugly. Try the single player demo first...

I have a 3200+ XP and a 9800 pro 128 and I can run it at 800x600 with a
few of the goodies turned on, but it still looks quite decent. I got the
game for the AI fun, and it definitely is up to par on that. I've played
it through twice already, and I can't imagine how much prettier it'll be
when I eventually upgrade. :-D
Cheers,

Also running a 9800 Pro 128, AMD 2800+ 1GB ram. Fear runs nicely with
most things set high.

Agreed - try F.E.A.R. The game, not the Ian Brown single. I'm running
it on an Athlon XP2100+ o/c to 2400+ and a Radeon 9700 Pro. Seems fine
- maybe I'll finish it this weekend.
Failing that... Doom3 was OK, but frankly just too gratuitous for me. I
head the latest Hitman is just a rerun of some of the earlier missions,
right? With the godawful controls from Hitman:2?
I've gone back to GTA:VC. Nearly finished it, then I'll probably wheel
out GTA:SA. After that, maybe Black and White 2? I do fancy some FPS
action though...

Have two "I know when a bloke what usually makes quality tunes, doesn't"
points.

I think it's a decent tune by brown, better when you havn't heard it in
a while.

I think its the *only* decent tune by Brown.. normally I find his stuff
pretty dull, whereas that is actually quite inventive.

I've actually felt a bit let down since the awesomeness that was "Golden
Greats". I absolutely lurv both Stone Roses albums and that one. Haven't
heard much off "Music of the Spheres", and the latest two are rather
mediocre. Too bad, he's very talented when he puts his mind to it.

I second this, pretty f.cking good, I thought it'd be shite, but erm, its
not :p

Call of Duty 2. Multiplayer is real popular now that Punkbuster has been
integrated into it.
>Any suggestions for a HL2 recommended-spec PC?
HL2: Episode 1, out next week.

You should try out the "minerva" mod for HL2, its really good. The combine
seem to be a lot tougher as well.
