Day of Defeat

I have a problem with the original Day of Defeat, not Source. I used
to be able to play Day of Defeat on my account, but recently one of my
computers died and after getting a new one I am unable to. I
downloaded Steam instead of reinstalling with the original disk, but my
account should allow me to play Day of Defeat unless I'm mistaken.
Does anyone know what the problem is? (On a side note counter strike
is the only game I am able to play)

Is it exactly the same account that you used previously? it sounds as
if you're playing with an account associated with a CS 'retail' CD key.
