Btw Black Mesa looks as a rather interesting mod (not released yet)

Looks good. Some of the screenshots are very recognisable, though perhaps a bit
too slavish to the original (why continue with claustrophobic spaces when you
can open it out a little?). The Surface Tension dam looks a lot better than in
the original.
I have to say I love the music samples they have provided :) I think it's much
better than HL1 or HL2.

RM: Well, it's all dependent on the area and the designer's inputs on the
chapter. Areas which were very strong in the initial version of HL, such as
the anomalous materials laboratories, are shaping up to still be updated and
look very sexy with the powers of Source. However, areas like Surface
Tension, Inbound, On A Rail, are all undergoing major changes to look better
with Source - This was because while we felt some of the areas were quite
incredible for their time in HL1, they would look plain silly when ported to
a next-generation engine. We're having to rethink some of these areas and do
some new work on the chapters, but it will all be for the better.

Did you read the notes, too? Sometimes they are more entertaining than the
strip they describe.

Nah fella. The commics had a humour bourn of my gaming
experience. They touched a comedic nerve so I had to finish
them :)

No, no. Keep it claustrophobic, that was one of Half-life's
defining qualities. Crawling through darkened ventilation
shafts. I nearly s**t myself several times.

I think the site is superb. Music and all.

Commendable research Peter.
Have 5 "I spent several gruelling hours on the internet with

And let me know when this comes out. I'd love to try it.

Actually a cup of Chivas and planethalflife.com is in my favouritelist :)
Thanks a lot for the points :)

WOW! What an awesome intro to the web site. I am always so tempted to
hit the SKIP button when I encounter these, as they are usually a waste of
time. But this one was very effective, and combined with the in-game sound
effects and the background music, I really felt like I was starting a new
game. Very, very cool. If the mod shows the same level of inventiveness,
I"ll be there.

Thanks for introducing me to Concerned - I've reached issue 034 (loved the
ad for the apartment). Definitely rate the 100,000 barrels and the rickety
bridge issue the best (so far).

Yeah. Can't wait until tomorrow to see the next one.
