As I am in the UK I cannot get Vonage so I don't know a massive amount about it, but I am pretty sure Skype is generally cheaper depending on the type/number of calls you make. For my Skype use I have a gizmo called a Yamamoto Easyblue box that lets me plug my DECT cordless phone into my PC so I am not tethered to my PC to make phone calls over Skype. For incoming calls I have a SkypeIn number which costs me 20 pounds a year which is great value IMO. SkypeIn comes with free voicemail, at least for now. Although I am not sure I would bother as I have a set of 4 DECT phones each with good battery life and headset ports which work great with Skype and my PC is on all the time anyway. I have Vonage and Love it. Unlimited long distance in the USA and Canada. Voicemails via E-mail and complete call records available via the internet. ($29.99/phone line/Month) You can use any analog phone (not just a PC) that you already own. (I have the Two line 5.8Ghz wireless phones) If you have a stable broadband connection, it's worth it.
