Any fairly long and good single player mods for half life 2 or quake 4
around?

Ya sure I can search, but that doesn't usually get the infos like, is it
sh.t, or, does it crash on the 18th headcrab, or wutever.

Having just finished quake 4 (which was damn good overcoming my
reservations), I now only have civ4 to play in 'off time' and a little CS of
course :p

Not interested in any new multiplayer mods unless natural selection source
is out :)  Most seems to be fairly crappy fun for five minute type affairs.

So...any one got some linkage? :D

Cheers,

Lief

A couple of new SP mods/add-ons for HL2 have been released lately:

"Mistake of Pythagoras":
http://city17.ru/hl2/mistakeofpythagoras/

and "Combine Destiny":
http://city17.ru/hl2/combinedestiny/

They're both good, so give 'em a shot.  Also worth playing are "Das
Roboss":
http://city17.ru/hl2/das_roboss/

and "Minerva Part 1":
http://city17.ru/hl2/minerva1/

(the above links are to a Russian HL2 site....if you can't read
Russian, just click on one of the two download links given below the
titles of each mod).

Most of the rest of the mods/add-ons out there aren't worth the
trouble; but these four should keep you busy for a while.

Nice one, cheers Len and McG.  I had actually already downloaded mistake of
pythagoras, forgot I had done so.  Will check out the others.

Always remember to check http://www.planethalflife.com/ on a weekly basis
You'll find all the goodies there

Also http://moddb.com/ is a really good site
Moddb covers all mods across numerous games

Released SP mods for HL2

Thanks, Peter.  I've already got those links saved as Bookmarks; but
when some of the new releases don't show up on them, I check the other
sites.  Some other good links are:

http://www.fileplanet.com/filelist.aspx?st=1&sf=3&s=100511&v=0 (not as
good as it used to be for keeping up-to-date on the latest SP mods &
add-ons);

http://ftp.games.skynet.be/pub/www.filesnetwork.com/Half-Life_2/Maps/SinglePlayer/
(the best "pure" DL site, but a little slow in offering the newer
ones);

http://halflife2.levels4you.com/downloads.l4y?cat=211 (can be
frustrating getting to the actual DL links, and like FilePlanet you
have to log-on before DLing);

and,

http://city17.ru/hl2/ (easy DL links to 84 mods & add-ons!....not bad
for a site that many of us can't decipher [at least most of the titles
are in English]).
