In WHAT?  There's a 64 bit version of HL2?   I have the one for Far Cry 64.
The improvments are quite noticable!

I have a Steam account, but can't see where to download the 64 bit content.
Anyone point me in the right direction?

It should do it automatically - your games will spend a short while
updating, and that should be it (Steam auto-detects whether or not your
system supports 64 bit)

I did, right after leaving that post and got smacked right in the face with
the news about the 64 bit Source engine :)  So, when I get x64 installed on
its own drive now, I'll be running it.
