I just played through the demo (thank God there's a demo, unlike that
Rag Doll Kung Fu piece of crap) and I thought it was pretty neat.  I'm
wondering if there's any more depth to it beyond squads, Darwinians,
officers, and engineers.  It has the potential to be very cool, I just
don't know if it's fleshed out yet.

Anyway, the game goes on sale tomorrow and I'd really like to hear any
opinions on it.

Its been out for ages :/

I liked it, its fun, but I never finished it.  Quite strategic in terms of
how you beat each level etc.  Plus there isn't another game like it,
anywhere.

Of course being so original it may put some people off.

I've tried it a little. I tried it before it was released through Steam.
A mate at work raves about it, apparently it has a whole lot of new
additions and features as the game fleshes itself out later.

The controls suck, but other than that, it is different and fun.

They have improved a massive amount since the original demo, in fact
the Steam demo seems better than I remembered the last demo to be in
that respect. I ordered it today after playing the Steam demo.

This game is damned addictive and pretty challenging.  Shame about the
memory leak.  Had a couple of crashes so opened task manager and put that on
my 2nd monitor.  Played the game while watching the page file usage climb,
and climb, and climb.... hope there's a patch soon - it's ruining a bloody
good game

I haven't had any problems, I have 2GB of RAM so maybe that helps, but
it has all been smooth for me.

1.5GB here.  Strange.  Have you got to 'pattern buffer' yet?

No, I haven't got that far.

Ah.  I've googled and it seems a few folk (including me) hit a problem
around that part.  Fingers crossed you dont suffer it or there's a patch out
by then.

Resolved it.  A post in the Steam forums gave an interim solution.  Disable
3d sound and realtime FX in the sound options.  No crashes since and the
commit charge hovers around 500MB rather than keep climbing until PC
crashes.

Thanks, I will bear that in mind if I get problems later in the game
:-)

Just finished it.  Thought it was a great game - yes there is depth to it
(though you only get one more unit - armour - a big cannon the darwinians
can fire).  No spoilers from me but it does take a little thinking to get
through, it can get quite addictive, it's fun BUT it's short.  Came to the
end much quicker than I expected.  Replay value - probably, but just as
something to dip into if I fancy something different.
