Well that would explain why my second time through was so easy! I thought
I was just doing better :P

But you still get killed if you enter the water at the beginning of the
level...?
I've tried clearing a path using grenades, but did not acquire enough to
extend the path long enough to avoid getting killed.

Patrick.

I guess I should clarify: falling will still kill you. The leeches will
still get you. You're just impervious to rocket and machine gun fire (go
ahead - let the chopper blast at you and laugh!)

It's easy to get around to the other side. Drop off the balcony
at the back just past where you kill the first combine troops and t
here are some crates to smash. Stick close to the wall going
towards the right and just follow it round. No biting little critters
to contend with at all.

Throw yourself off the top of a multi story car park.
If you ever tell your Grandkids about it, then there's
a good chance you are.

Heh...what he said.
That, or just turn off the commentary option. ;-)
If your head comes away from your shoulders, though, all bets are off...

Yes, that did it. I don't think the creators of Lost Coast intended for
this to be possible, or they did, and wanted to show us what the game
looked like 'behind the props'.
Things start looking rather 'weird' once you get at the location of the
chimneys and stuff: the red shed is transparant from the backside, the
bridge to the town looks 'ethereal' once you're close to it, etc, etc.
Nevertheless, very educating!
Patrick.

Anyone know how to get into the console in Lost Coast?
Would really like to set the "noclip" option "on" :-)

It's the stupid, stupid danish keyboard layout :)
Add the -console to the commandline or use alt-shift (before starting HL) in
order to change to a more proper keyboard layout
I am using the -console style :)

No, I have the console working in all other mods AND hl2
But neither the -console NOR the keyboard (redefined) work
for "Lost Coast" for some reason. Just can't get it open
(ok, I'll have to add the "noclip" to the config-file :-)
