Hi All

I have mentioned a couple of times that the kids needs a GPU replacement

The deal was save about half the amount and I will add the other half
I has been looking into the X700 Pro (AGP slot) and had decided to get the
ASUS model it's about 1400Dkr

Ok the investment is due and I checked Google once more for hardware tests
etc

I found a head to head test between the X700Pro and 6600GT and I must say
that the 6600GT is very competitive only in HL2 is the X700 closing in, in
all other test the X700 fell behind

Ok cool it's the 6600GT then
I checked the the prices on the internet and found the 6800 at just about
the same price and 9800 Pro at 1300Dkr

Head to head 600GT, 6800 and 9800XT
http://www.hardavenue.com/reviews/gf6600gtagp1.shtml

So I have ordered an ASUS GeForce6800 V9999/TD/128MB at ~1450Dkr all
included

Not in stock though we have to wait approx seven days - ouch - but stay
tuned :)

I would think that the vanilla 6800 would actually be a little better than
the 6600GT and 9800Pro.  The hw tests and benches show that thought wrong?
Pricewise, the 6600GT should be the best bang for the Dkr tho :)

No the 6800 is slightly better?

The difference is 100Dkr with the 6600GT being the cheapest
Not much :)

If I could lay my hands on 600GT with 256Mb mem I would have chosen the
6600GT
A lot of those with PCI-E interface but only XFX has one with AGP and who
wants XFX :)

According to tests it has some issues with 2D graphics
Anyway the 6800 is out of stock and not available :(

I have just ordered a Sapphire X800GT instead ~ 1700DKr
This one includes 256Mb memory

Should be in stock mid next week

That's a good card too, roughly equal in performance to the 6800 vanilla.
But with 256 megs, not 128 :)
