Hi Guys,
I was looking at HL2 on Ebay and I wondered if there are any pit-falls.
I don't quite understand this Steam malarkey - does it mean that a steam
account is only valid for the original purchaser of the game, or can it be
used by another purchaser?
Thanx!

Yes, that is the major pitfall. don't buy a copy of HL2 second hand
unless you can trust the person 100% to pass your their steam account.

As bench says they have to give you their Steam account with the game. You
can then sign in on their account and change the account password and
contact e-mail address. The user name will remain the same though so it may
be worth asking what that is... if it's 'I_luv_Westlife' or
'Saturday_night-pink-tutu' I'd pay full price instead...
;-)

It's not worth it ... just buy it directly through Steam. If you do
buy it through Steam, it comes with DoD:S. Otherwise you'll have to
spend another $20 if you want that. Suddenly the eBay "bargain"
doesn't look so good.

...if you buy the Silver or Gold packages.
