Hi all

Just got the demo yesterday and seems like a decent game, alot of
information to take in but i reckon once i've gotten used to it all
i'll like it alot. The demo map is a good one, lots of places to hide
and such, i never played the first one much but i reckon i'll be buying
this en.

Anyone else played it, and are you going to buy it?

I am a big BF1942 fan and am very much looking forward to BF2 arriving
through my letter box soon.

Just finished the download after 3 days on 56k and played a few
minutes. The Game plays exactly like BF1942 or it's famous Desert
Combat Mod but with much better graphics and AI. I Should be getting
the full game later this week as I pre-ordered it and got e-mail that
it was already shipped. I try not to judge till I see actual full
version, but looks good so far.

It isn't exactly the same, having squads and a commander changes
things a bit.

Yes, a good feature is the 'scan' where you can scan for all enemys on
the map. Were the 'airstrikes' a part of bf1942?

You have to be the commander to do the scans.

No, in BF1942 you just had bombers manually doing air strikes or you
could have targeted artillery strikes from ships or land based cannons
or missile batteries.

When your the commander, one of the options available are 'scan'. Which
does what it says on the tin.

Also played the demo and all the BF games and it does look and play very
similarily to the older ones but looks a lot better. Once the game proper
arrives with all the other maps and playable features it can only get
better.
Hurry postie , hopeing to get it tomorrow. Suppose the EA servers will be up
and running ? , if not single player for a day.

I was excited and all over the demo until i read the readme.txt after it
wouldn't run to find that it requires at least a nVidia FX5700 or ATI
8500 video card.
My GF4 Ti4200 is not *allowed* to run it though it could almost kick a
FX5700's a.s.
*grumble grumble*

Side note: I was able to find a BF2 demo tweak file to allow a GF4 to
run the demo but OMG does it ever look like dog barf.
It runs but just barely with missing textures, off colour and massive
graphics glitches.
