When loading a saved game on some of the User created sp maps, AI Disabled
comes up on the screen. When this happens all of the characters in the game
just stand around doing nothing. Is there a quick cure for this?

Yeah... Swallow steam and buy legal HL2!
(Or, if you actually HAVE a legal HL2 you can pop theconsole and write
"ai_disable 0" and hit enter)

Is it just me or should that command REALLY have been renamed to
"ai_enabled" ? Seems more logical that way

(On a side note i also play a pirated version of HL2 to get rid of
steam, but believe me when i say i own the legal version as well,
Valve actually deserved my 50 dollars despite the Steam-business)

Nahh disable equals false
Seems to be ok :-)

Thanks for the answer Dukeman.

My copy of HL2 is legal and runs through Steam. I don't know what gave you
that impression, but some of the User made maps are a little funky. Some of
them are a lot funky.

Actually I dabbeld in logic a bit and tried that suggestion and a few others
that did not work before posting the question.

I don't play pirated games. If I don't have the money I just wait 6 months
and get it when it hits half price.<s>

Likewise (or I borrow it at the library or rent it at blockbuser to
check it out)

The AI being disabled is a known problem with the pirated version

I've played through several of the user-created sp maps, and the only
one that does this is Be A Rebel Level 2.  Is this the one you mean?
It's really a crappy map, so I deleted it; but I'm wondering if you're
having the same problem with any of the other maps.

Well so far it happened on Be A Rebel Level 1 and level 2, and Engage The
Zombies. There is also a map called Head Sickness that is either very short
and ends strangely, or has a bad bug when you go downstairs to the basement.
When you get down the stairs you can't go forward, some of the walls are
transparent, and you can sort of  see the inside of the map. I think the
object of the map is to do something in the basement. That is why I think it
is a bug.

I haven't tried Be a Rebel Level 1 or the other two; but from what you
say, and judging from how crappy BAR L2 was, I think I'll give them
all a pass.  Sorry that I can't help with the bugs....some of these
authors should use a little imagination when designing their maps, and
finish & play-test the bloody things before posting them.  Anyway,
thanks for the heads-up on what to avoid.
