There are a few half decent Rats maps available for HL2DM... Who's up
for an old fashioned HL2DM bash???? Let's hear it folks....

ABash with us is a prearranged game usually played on a sunday... I
was just seeing if there was any interest... The server is always up
and running...

I didn't find a "Rats" anything in my server list.  No filters on except
'no password'.  Will be looking again when I get in today.

Good to see ya rat... Perhaps we can get Civ, McG, you and me at
least.... There are 4 rats maps I'm running... I've DL'd them from
servers.... Best bet is to do the same... It's "The Rat's Cat
House"... I have a dynamic ISP so the URL changes on reboot.... Let's
think about 2pm CST USA or 8pm GMT... Feedback please.... No need to
practice, I haven't played since last April... I suck....

Hey that sounds good to me!   Only thing is that your server didn't show
up in my list.  I'll be looking for anything with "Rats" in it.  Or
maybe you got an IP/port handy?  I just added the LinkSys router back
in, I might have to forward that port, but can see more than 400 other
HL2DM servers...

"Your version of map [insert map name] differs from servers."  error,
both servers.

HL2DM downloaded it right from your server!  Then turned right around,
disconnected me and said my map version differs from servers!  FIVE
times now!  So what could I have wrong in my maps folder?!?

Got em all now.   PL sent me the rats_living map, and that one works.  I
realize it's some kind of problem on MY end that's doing this.   For
this map, I have the non working one in a temp folder now, and a working
one in the \maps folder, and it does run.   The byte count and all
properties of the two files match.  Yet something is different.  One
will crash the game to the desktop and the other one works fine.
There is one major item I haven't tried yet:  take the BEFSR41 v2 out
and hook this rig direct to the cable modem.  Yesterday, I guess during
the bash, I tried to get in while that map was running, it downloaded
then gave me the same message and disconnected.  Later, PL sent me the
file and I found that one worked.  Bash was over then tho :(  Sorry I
missed it.  You and rat coulda shown me how to get into the aquarium and
the glass of water :)   'Sides, us puzzlers give you serious shooters a
few easy frags ;)

Three maps, two servers, same DISCONNECTED message.... "Your map [map
name] differs from servers"

So there's something wrong in my maps folder?

I had a look for a bit. Every's ping on the server was over 300! Had
about 6-8 players then?

and was the only person there besides me...

Haven't seen a lot of response but I realize there a lot of pussys out
there... :) Gonna run it anyway... 2PM CST or 8PM GMT... DL the maps
from the server since I don't know where else to find them... It will
be limited to 8 players due to lag... The password will be the usual
one... If anyone needs it E-mail me... Eat a good lunch and get a good
nights sleep, you'll need it... :)

I jumped in the other night had a quick bash and then went to bed while it
downloaded maps for me. I can now see in my maps folder, dm_bathroom,
dm_rats, dm_bellas room deluxe, dm_mousekitchen and dm_rats living... am I
missing any?

Thanks for the game CF.. like you say tho, plenty of pussies out
there...they seem to go all soft, goooey and invisible at the mere
mention of crowbars ;-)
Sorry I cut it short.. my sister rang from NY to say she had arrived
safely then mrs rat shouted out to say the nachos were ready and when I
came back you had sort of nodded of I think.. ;-))
But getting back to the crowbars.. I couldn't see one in my weapon
cycle. Stun stick was there but no old faithful. Was it perhaps because
I had chosen a combine skin?
Anyways, I enjoyed it muchly thanks. Pretty cool maps. Can't wait for a
sneakymouse offering.
