Look guys, I know the standard response to a request for a serial number
is f*ck off, but I have no clue what to do. My little b*stard vrother
decided to rip up my cd key, and now I'm trying to install to my new
comp. So now all I have of my key is 5875-49534-3... Well, you know the
rest.

You're lucky you were able to salvage so much of your key... Now you
only have 1,000 variations to try for the last three numbers......
Good luck....

If you still have access to your old computer, the CD-Key is in the
Windows registry (see the HL FAQ for mroe info). If not, you can contact
Sierra for a replacement. Or you can just pick up a new copy of HL on
the cheap; the old GOTY edition should be inexpensive, and the retail CS
and DOD versions have CD-Keys which will work with regular HL.
You won't get a replacement CD-Key in here, of course. Think of it like
this: if your little brother ripped up a $20 bill, would you expect
total strangers to give you a new one just out of kindness? Remember, it
can be used by only one person online at a time. If I give you mine,
then I can't play.

Actually, at Best Buy, you can find a copy for $9.95 in the value pack
which contains only the HL CD. So, it's more like her brother ripped up a
$10 bill.

Then generate one, dimwit. But don't bother trying to use it on the
internet, it won't work.
