Now *that* is a ride!
Providing y'all come to your senses next week, I'm starting to think
it's time to check out American Airlines' 'two-for-one' flight offers.

That looks intense. Aren't you a little old to be going on them now?

Could you not just go to Alton Towers - they've already built theirs.

Oh, I've logged many flight hours on Oblivion, trust me! But when you
consider that Oblivion is about 100 feet straight down, and the whole
ride lasts about 35 seconds including the lift hill, I think you can
see that this is in a different category altogether. a 200 foot drop
that's just the start of the ride... oh yes!

According to that link I posted its 180 feet, but only 87 degrees, so
not quite vertical :(

Oh, it feels vertical, trust me!
We *had* noticed it wasn't actually vertical (you can see that the
track doesn't align with the lighting towers, etc). I may have done it
a dis-service with my details, though - according to the rcdb it's
nearly 180 feet drop, but since most of that is underground it feels a
lot less. The start of the drop is only about 60 feet off the ground...
Also, it's supposed to take 1:15 seconds. Right. from start of drop to
final braking is no longer than 15 seconds, absolute maximum, including
slowing down time.
Compare that to SheikRa, which has a 3 min ride time, and starts off
180 feet above the ground (with a guaranteed 90 degree angle of
descent). I assure you 180 feet above solid, visible ground is going to
feel a lot scarier than 60 feet above a cloud of dry ice.

Just back from Florida and had a nice day out at Busch. Did Gwazi for the
first time and for a wooden coaster it's a bit wild. Go to Florida every
year and every year a new ride opens somewhere to make it worth the effort
to go back. Next year Disney have loads of new stuff and this one at Busch
Gardens , roll on next September!!

"An Immelmann loop"? ;) I hope they get it right, or flightsimmers will be
complaining about the flight model :)
Heck, if you want to do all that twisty turny divey climby stuff, I can arrange
it for you, without the rails ;)

Awesome!
Just go to Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio if you're really into roller
coasters. Most rollercoasters in the world! And several of the biggest,
fastest, and longest. Glad its only 2 hours from my house :)

I'm jealous! Let me point you to this link:

... from my trip a couple of years ago :)
Top Thrill Dragster wasn't there then, of course, but I hit every other
big ride... Raptor is pure poetry in steel, although Mantis is a nasty
literal pain in the neck!
I'll be back...

I've been there, No-Handed the Top Thrill and the Millenium Force. Me
and my kid rode the Magnum 13 times in one hour.
Bummer they took out the shooting gallery though.

Looks like a slightly bigger version of Oblivion -
http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail777.htm which was damn scary, and
not all that much fun (I enjoy all the twisting stuff, I'm not to fond
of being held very high of a large hole and watching people catch up
with their own vomit on the way down....
