I quit playing  the Half-Life single person game at Gonarch's Lair about 6
months ago. I figure I'd better finish it with HL2 coming out soon (?). I
have made it to the Interloper level but I have had a problem with  the game
locking up when I jump out of one of the pits on the surface of the island.
It's a lot like the lock-up that happens on lifts and elevators earlier in
the game. The solution has been discused here many times but I have been
gone for so long that I cannot remember it . Any suggestions/

Several solutions to the "elevator bug" are :

- Try crouching/jumping when you get stuck
- Try temporarily switching to Software mode
- enable sv_cheats and use noclip in the console to "fly" out of it
(Don't forget to disable sv_cheats afterwards though!)
