What "easter eggs?"
I see something else.
And as I stated, looks like vALVE is just having some fun. I believe there
is more to come, however. : )
HL2 is almost HERE!!!!!!!!

No, I meant... Oh, never mind.

Weird! When i tried that earlier, it didn't work, but it just worked now
:) ... neat ASCII art... But i don't know exactly how one was supposed
to "complete the first test" without being given the user/password...
where do the clues come from?

I don't see what else there is to continue with, there's no links or
anything like that... not very interesting indeed.

Small 'n' in the password doesn't work, you have to use 'N'. Maybe that's where
you went wrong (I did).

I figured that you were supposed to be enough of a l33t h4X0R to figure out the
username & password without clues. The username is guessable, but until W????n
explains what he's going on about, the password will remain a mystery to most of
us. Where did the link come from anyway? Maybe that's where the clues are.

Well, since the message says "first test", logic suggests that there is a second
one. The first one wasn't exactly obvious, so I thought the second test might
be similar hidden, e.g. in the HTML or CSS.

the HTML code contains Gordon's head drawn in ASCII art.

They were written on a whiteboard at Valve, where a load of
fans/journos got a visit recently. Valve obviously knew they'd take
pictures of *everything*, so set a simple puzzle for the fans. They
didn't take into account that the dummies wouldn't photograph the whole
board, and therefore they missed part of the password. One sheepish
email to Valve later, the big secret was revealed...
And you have to be 133t to know what pwn3d means, I gather.

Simply turn it upside down, and it obviously reads... um... "peumd".
L33t is my middle name.
