I think this is the most elaborate joke ever. I think this fall we will all
be on Candit Camera, or in Guiness World Records, as the largest number of
people fooled by one prank...
I think there is going to be no Half-Life 2 at all. What on earth can take
so long if you know that it took a very short time to develop Far Cry from
scratch. A complete additional year is needed after the code was leaked? Who
are they fooling? And what buch of amateurs would allow the code to be
leaked? Come-on ...

Sorry you've made one critical mistake. You've forgotten to post your
utter nonsense across several newsgroups.

And it's kind of late in the day for HL2 trolls along these lines.  It's all
been done before.

Thanks, I'll think of that next time I post utter nonsense ;-)

Strange though that I am the only one that seems to find the whole HL2
situation a bit fishy. To all others it seems to make perfect sense. I guess
this is just me ...

Have a nice weekend!

Ah, but that's not quite what you posted, was it? You called it the
'most elaborate joke ever' and that 'there is going to be no Half-Life
2 at all'.

This is obviously wrong, unless the evil masterminds at Valve created
all those screenshots, demo movies, etc, for the sole purpose of what?
Pulling a prank on the fans of Half-Life? Does that make any shred of
sense to you? If not, can it be called anything else than nonsense?

Yes, that's right, it's just you.  Nobody else has ever entertained any paranoid
conspiracy theories regarding the release of HL2 and chosen to share them with
us.  You're the first.

Thanks to him though, we've all seen the light, and should all be so
wise as to know now that HL2 really doesn't exist!

It just pops into existence when it's time for release?

Well basically the final game does not exists as a whole until it is
released by the publisher
HL2 does exists and has existed probably for a few years more years than
we know of
But the product we eventually will get from the stores does not exist -
yet

When we talk about HL2 and see HL2 movies it's not the HL2 product we
will get in the final version
The movies shows a HL2 which is beefed up a little
It'll will not show what will happen in any aspects of a map - just some
prepared stunts which is supposed to look "realistic" from a gamers
point of view

You know when eg looking at a movietrailer most scenes is out of sync
with each other in order to have the trailer look appealing to the
audience
You might have a clue on what to expect, but you might also be
disapointed when you see the real product

I still think the fact that Doom 3 before Half-Life 2 is hilarious.

(what's that? there's Gordon Freeman in a platform game?!)

(set operation "use old console platformer skills"!)

Whoa.

I just had a really traumatic thought that somebody did the same for Doom.

...

Oh God.
