okay... here's the deal.. i have the following problem: I felt like installing half-life the other day, but i'd already sold it... very well... off to the shop to buy it again. All's well. I install the game... No problemo... but then when i try to play the game it crashes instantly (when i actually START the game) without any notification of what's wrong... i fiddled around with the graphics settings, but no better result came out of that... :'( So i installed "ye olde" warex version, and it worked just fine! but i don't want to play with the warex version, i want to play with my LEGAL cd and a LEGAL cd-key! does anyone know what's wrong? HL does not work by default in XP. I couldn't get it running until I had it patched to 1110 (?) For a couple of weeks the newsgroup was full of single word replies to hugely overquoted reposts.
