I just finished - and I am a little underwhelmed.

I played "normal" - but there were not enough puzzles / problem solving for
me.  The story was OK, the graphics were very good, it had some really cool
things in it - like new weapons, leading people, hover boat, buggy, etc.

I just was not as wowed as the first time I played the first one.

Perhaps I had really really high expectations...I was so wowed by the first
one - something so new and different - I was hoping this was going to be the
next generation / next level / something new and ground breaking.

I thought the ending was a little weak.  After all that time I did not feel
satisfied when it ended.

I finished mine today as well. Though I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere
near the hype levels some had for it. I actually got bored with it fairly
quickly, but just like Doom3, I got more interested in it, about 3/4 of the
way through.

I really felt they didn't explain much of the storyline. I know little more
now than when I woke up and smelt the ashes.

The ending, I didn't like at all.

Oh well, no doubt there is plans for a HL3

Here's a link to a page that has collected all the tidbits of
information in HL1&HL2 (spoilers):

Actually they revealed quite much about history (except G-man's
motives). And no one knows the future, right... :)

Finished it today too...

I don't know yet what it is in normal, I did it in easy... I know, I know,
shame on me...

But it's the best way to maximize the purshase...

Anyway, I find the game unbalanced: sometimes you have to rush like a bull
no matter what, sometimes you have to think first, and generally you just
have to follow the stream...

But, technically, besides its endless loading time, this game is amazing.
Plus, CS:S is excellent too (ok 3 of my favorite maps are gone Assault,
Siege and Militia). The new Dust and Aztec are quite fun. Hopefully they
will be available sometimes...

And f*ck this online check (it makes my P4 2.66 512 MB increase the load
time by 8 minutes).

Thanks Valve and Vivendi-Universal !!!

I agree - sometimes rushing no time to think - and others times - way too
much time ...but perhaps that is more realistic and not so overwhelming.

I HATE THIS ONLINE STUFF!!  I just want to play off line - as fast as
possible.

The loading stuff got old and killed momentum.  In most places it was at a
logical transition spot - but in a few places it was mid action.
