9/23 Update Problems

Ever since the 9/23 Update to Steam. I can't launch HL2 or CS:S! Anyone
else out there haveing the same problem?. I've already tried Valve's
suggestions to cold boot, and restart and retry. Of course that didn't
work. I've sent them a email requesting additional help already.

Had the same problem - for me it was the McAfee firewall. 'Behind' the HL2
start up screen was a pop-up saying 'This application has changed - do you
still want to give it access to the internet?' It was waiting for a
response from me but I couldn't see it!

If this isn't your problem then you might be better asking in AGHL
newsgroup. This one (AGHL2) is as dead as a dodo.
