Have you had any problems with STEAM? .. I bought it via STEAM and

The only problem I seem to get is when I try to start a dedicated server,
I'm running XP Home SP1 and it seems to crash on me :(

There are already mods out for HL2.
Cut and pasted from a thread in alt.games.half-life just this morning:

"Garry's Mod 7a
Garry's Mod for CS:S 7a
HL2Substance
Strider's Mod (Piolatable Combine Army)
Half-Life 2: Capture the Flag"

You really want a challenge? Try HL2 Substance.

Fortunately, most people have no issues with Steam, so most Steam posts in
the forums I frequent are from people shouting about how "STEAM IS GHEY AND
VALVE SUXXORX!!!!!!!!!!!11111". As you said yourself, "I bought it via Steam
and haven't had a problem".

First post, you say... Just do a search on Google for posts from
alt.games.half-life2 ;)

I bought the game the first day on the shelf.  Since then I beat it twice on
easy, once on medium and once on hard.  There were many times during the
hard level that I thought I could not beat it.  I would then take a break
from it for a day or two and then I would somehow make it through.  I'm now
playing it on medium again but this time without using any quicksaves.  Even
though it is a little short it is very replayable.  What a fun game it is.
Now I'm looking forward to TF2.
