I'm so tired of trying to survive the required time till help arrives.  How
did you do it....did you back into a cell and block off the opening with
barrels.  Constantly standing up guns gets me killed, and they come from too
many directions.

This is the way I do it.  It's not hard and always works.  You simply stack
up boxes to  the balcony.  Then you use the grav gun to throw at least two
guns up there.  When you grab the last gun that triggers the combine to come
in.  I usually just drop the last gun and jump up to the balcony and set the
two guns up and just stand back and let them finish off the soldiers.  You
do have to occasionally reset the guns as they take a lot of fire including
gernades.  If you are quick enough you can use the grav gun to throw the
gernades back at them.

Another way that a lot of people use is to take out each gun, turn it around
and put it back into it's cubby and get yourself into the forth cubby with
the shotgun in hand for close encounters.

Good luck,
DaveL

What I did was drag the two guns from the control room with me into the
next section. Then I had five guns in the small room with me. It took a
few minutes to bring the other guns but it made that area easier.

I first tried to set the tripods in the room where they are stocked...

Bad idea : as Combine arrive from both ways with lots of grenades, I managed
to survive only in easy.

Actually setting the three tripods in a cell was working perfectly. Using
the GravGun to pick any incoming grenade, the "use" button to set any fallen
tripod back and quick saving between two rushes, I passed that section
zithout loosing any life/armor point.

Hi all

Anyone got the 'bug' where the tripods were still activated to shoot at
Freeman?  In my case, only in the teleport room did the guns worked to shoot
the guards.

Hmm, strange.  If my case is a one off, I wonder how it can be fixed...

I think I know the place you mean (I finished the game about 6 weeks
ago). From memory there are those areas that store the tripods - those
little concrete cabinet things - I backed myself into that and kept
firing at anything that came. But it took me quite a few goes!

I never used cheat mode though - so keep trying you can do it!
