fire mission

Hi,

I want to do the fire truck mission early on in the game (before reaching
the second island) because I think it will be easier on the first Island. I
have heard of people getting a fire truck to come if they set of the flame
thrower. I have the flame thower after jumping to the golf course and
collecting enough hidden packages. I have shot at a group of people and had
a lot on fire but no fire truck. i have tried it several times but with now
luck. Is this possible and if so are there any tricks to it (location, what
to burn etc)

Go to the SW part of the island near the lighthouse. There is a rampage there
which involves Molotov cocktails. It is by a hedge on a brown surface. After
you've completed that rampage, you will have a firetruck, because of all the
Cubans you've set on fire. Good luck.

I have already done that rampage and didn't see a fire truck. Never mind. I
could try burning cars or waiting to finish demolition man. Is the nmission
actually easier on the fire island or not?

Fire island?

I think it's easier on the first (eastern) island -- especially once the
Haitians are mad at you in Little Haiti on the western island. (You can't
put out a fire when they pull your a.s out of the truck and kick it.)

Wait until the western island is accessible, get a fire truck from downtown,
and drive it back over to the eastern island to do the missions. (Save it
in a big garage, like the one at the Mansion, but don't start missions on
Starfish, or you may end up over on the western island. So, maybe you
should wait until you own the Mansion, too.)

On my first run through of the game I did in on the second Island but before
the games were pissed of with me. I have tried again to get a fire truck but
no luck. poeple burn but nobody seems to give a sh.t. Nobody comes. Suppose
I will have to wait for demolition man. will need a bit garage to save it in
though because I am not going to go through dem man again and not save
straight away.

There's always a Fire Truck at the Fire Station in the second island at the
Fire Station just south of the Ammunation. Every time i drive past there's
ALWAYS one there.

The original post for this tread was actually talking about getting a fire
engine to the first island before the second island is open.

I have done the firetruck mission on the first island. I got the
flamethrower from the oceanview hotel and in front of this hotel i set a car
on fire. It didnt work the first time and the flamethrower is empty very
soon. Use it only for a short time, but long enough to make the car burn.
When the flame is off do it again. Do this until the car explodes. With a
little luck there will already be a firetruck. If not, get the next car and
burn it. You will of course get a wanted-level. Try not to get more then one
star and be carefull there is no cop in reach when u enter the firetruck.
Dont start the mission until your wanted-level is gone.

A Firetruck can appear after you complete the Demolition Man mission.

I got my firetruck during the Molotov cocktail rampage. I did the rampage
before any missions.

Where do you guys keep these giant beasts? Sunshine Auto garages?

I don't keep them. I just use them and throw them away. They are easy
enough to get if I should happen to want/need another.

I did the rampage and then drove the firetruck to my Ocean Beach hideout. I
did a save game and then started the firetruck mission.
