Jump near your hideout in Alderny - how?

In front of your apartment in Alderny is a road going downhill that
leads to a ramp.  If you get a good start and hit the ramp, you go
sailing across the river; your'e supposed to land on the other side in
Algonquin.  But I can't figure out how to make the damn jump.  I found
what I think is the fastest car in the game, that turbo-charged sport
compact that you find at the abandoned mansion on the north shore of
Alderny.  I once crash-landed it onto Algonquin, but it said "Not good
enough."  Arrgh!

I've also tried the Ferrari-looking car and the PCJ 600 motorcycle.
No luck.

Has anyone made this jump?

You need the faster motorbike, can't remember the name. Look on youtube
for 'gta4 jumps'.

Guess I'll go on a bike hunt.  Here's the jump at about 2:33, took a
while to find:  http://youtube.com/watch?v=-IPX0lzqZko&feature=related

That last one's not a jump... it's a leap of faith!

I found one near the nuke plant that's giving me similar problems.  And all I need to jump across there is
a stupid little canal!

I've got a PCJ stashed in front of the remains of my first hidehout, if random traffic hasn't eaten it.  I
should give it a try tonight...

It's probably the other bike, the NRJ900, that you need. There's one by
the airport runway (be careful not to actually go onto the runway). If
you're on PS3, the quickest way to get there is to start the sixaxis
tutorial, then leave the airport. This will spawn you just outside the
airport, and you can run and grab the bike. Be aware that it isn't always
there, though. It's close to the north end.

things?

There is one right in Alderney as a matter of fact. I think it's a little
northwest of your hideout on a corner.
