Hi,

In LCS there's a laser-sighted sniper rifle on the balcony above the
entrance to the Ristorante Ecoli southeast of Carson General Hospital.
How the hell do I get onto the balcony to get it?

helicopter? Large vehicle to climb on? I can't recall exactly the
place or anything as I didn't like the game and hardly played it.

Thanks, but I thought of the vehicle idea - a fire engine doesn't even
come close to being high enough. There aren't any legitimate
helicopters in that game.

Odds are there's a ramp nearby where you can jump a car or bike up there.
I don't recall the exact location that you're talking about but I remember
a sniper rifle pickup (and hidden package) that could only be reached by
jumping, either with a vehicle or just on foot, from the elevated train
tracks close by.  Had a hell of a time figuring out that one.  In that game
some of the pickups and packages were real bastards to reach, compared to
GTA3...

As I recall, you'll cause an explosion affecting that whole area at
some point and the restaurant gets damaged and then you can get the
rifle. I remember spending quite some time looking for a way to get
that rifle too, but didn't find any.

Funny name for a restaurant, by the way :(

Could be worse, at least it's close to the hospital. OK, time to cause
some explosions ...

OK, I tried firing rockets at everything in sight, climbing up via
various large vehicles, driving a PCJ600 up the steps in front of the
restaurant at high speed to jump at it and looking for ways onto the
roofs of the adjacent buildings. None of these have come close to
working, I'm beginning to assume that the rifle was put there before
the last minute decision was made to remove helicopters from the game,
so in fact it's no longer accessible. Anyone ever actually got onto
that balcony?

dammit, I was really wrong here. I am so sorry but I thought we were
talking about Vice city stories. It was when you said helicopters had
been removed and I'm thinking, what? I've flown in them! then I
realised my error.

No, that won't do any good. There is a mission that will result in a
dramatic change in the shape of the buildings. You can't just use rockets
and blow stuff up to get the same effect.

OK, thanks to all, you're right, some further research reveals that
there's a mission called Bringing the House Down, which apparently
does what you and others describe, I'm not quite there yet, so the
laser-sighted rifle will have to stay where it is for now. By the way,
I've only dug this out of a drawer to play it in an attempt to avoid
the cost of a PS3 so I can play GTA4 - somehow I don't think it's
going to work.

I'm doing the same thing:)  I've played the story through once before
then went back to San Andreas and Vice City Stories but I needed to
get back to Liberty.

I really like LCS.  Not many people do, but I just like the overall
atmosphere / vibe of the game.  There's the odd nasty/cheap mission
but, overall, I like it.

If you want cheap, absolute bastardly missions, try VCS. First GTA game I
actually don't plan to finish. Rockstar Leeds can go suck one.

ah, well, SHE was asking a question about the game, and got genuine
answers, whatever the other thing is about.

Thanks Paul and others for all genuine replies. Unfortunately a.shole
Farrel is demented and has a history of stalking honest and
intelligent posters and spreading spam and nonsense across the
internet under a variety of names.

Thank you

Paul, I hope you enjoyed the Ernie and Dots a.shole hour. Come back again,

Excited after finally graduating kindergarten after 20 gruelling years,
Nomen Nescio <nomennescio@mail.com> burst forth on this most auspicious
occasion with the following:

Funny, that. It looks like the only "troll at alt.baldspot" is you, since
you seem to be obsessed with adding it as a crosspost.
