I have to ask you... What made you chose the 360 over the PS3? I've heard
*SO* many conflicting statements, I'd like to hear from a pure GTA fan... Is
it features over graphics... or vice versa... heck which is even which?, or
is it something I haven't even heard of yet? I'm leaning towards PS3, but
the non-backward compatibility put a HUGE dent in that option, because the
360 is cheaper... what's your opinion?
Thanx,
Buck

Why?
We have a GameCube that would not even recoup its eBay fees, so even though
the Wii is backward compatible, we play GC titles on the GC.

Well, my PS2 is getting a little long in the tooth... and I don't want to
have to throw *another* $129.00 on top of the PS3 in order to play my huge
PS2 library, which still kicks a.s by the way... with the PS2 it wasn't an
issue with my PS1's...

downloadable content. Plus bang for bucks. I could only have afforded
the retarded version of the ps3, whereas I got the top of the range
360. The range of backwards compatible games on the 360 isn't that
huge I don't think and some of the later games were actually released
as 360 games, so they definitely didn't bother with those.
Last couple of days I have been having massive problems being unable
to get onto xbox live too.

I got the 360 to play Mass Effect while waiting for GTA4. By my
reckoning, the 360 has two games while PS3 has only one, after GTA4
comes out that is. Of course the 360 is cheaper too. I'm extremely
skeptical about the GTA4 downloadable content for the 360, but we'll
see. I'm also somewhat skeptical about the GTA4 for the PS3 actually
coming out. AFAIK, no one has seen it, demos have all been on the 360.
OTOH, now that HDDVD is dead, the PS3 is more interesting as a movie
player. I suppose it's also quieter (should be easy to achieve) and
more reliable (also not too hard to do).

Like BB, I'm interested to know why you chose the 360 as well. The
price and episodic content make it tempting but I've heard bad things
about console reliability.

The Elite is the latest chipset etc so I just hoped that they had
solved the problems. I still hear things, bad things, but my fingers
are crossed. price was the main concern for me, I really wanted the
most I could get for the outlay.
My biggest problem so far has been from the xboxlive, which bit the
dust a couple of days ago and nobody will acknowledge whose problem it
is.
