Do you have to complete driving school to unlock the airport races?

I finished flying school ages ago but I rode around LVA on a PCJ for
ages last night (fun in itself) and couldn't find no steenkin'
marker.  I haven't finished driving school, though.  Is that why?

I want a Hunter, goddamnit!

I can't recall whether you have to do the driving school first but it
may be so, but the red marker is virtually in the gateway of the
airport, if I remember rightly, to the right of the gate next to the
first hangar or whatever? I do seem to recall that I tried on a couple
of occasions to skip some things and ended up having to go back and do
them before i could do other things.

Cheers, Paul.  I'll have another look around and if I get no joy it's
back to SF to try and get that Banshee round those fecking cones.

ah, pain in the arse most of that school but do-able in the end. I
never worried about all golds and crap, just the basics.  I found it
harder on the xbox than the ps2 due to the controls, specially  the
one where you have to spin the taxi, which is hard when you have to
hold the black and white buttons down to see backwards.

When it actually came to it, I did everything from Burn and Lap (my
original problem one) up to but not including City Slicking in one
sitting.  They all took, on average about four tries.  A couple of
them, like the "90" and the barrel roll (Alley Oop?) were just flukes,
but hey, they all count.  I attempted City Slicking once and then had
a couple of days break.  After that, it took about four or five
attempts to sneak a bronze in.

Yes.

I found some races I wasn't expecting in LV.  The ones that include a
loop around the LV orbital highway in a Turismo (which I won) and an
FCR900 race through the desert (which I, uhm, didn't).

I blagged a Hunter from Heli Hell but I'm a bit disappointed that
Brown Thunder isn't the doddle I was expecting.

as is well known round here I hate the Hunter. I think i did
eventually manage to get the thing round its course but I've never
liked it except for a quick blast at some stuff for fun. Luckily I am
not obsessed with 100% :O)

The one that took me the most tries was Burn And Lap. The camera angle
was just too slow at spinning round whilst powersliding, and I
generally tend to run out of fingers controlling the right stick to
move the camera aangle *and* keeping precise control of the Banshee.

Alley-Oop was a lot of fun, way back to GTAIII and VC I was doing
stunts like that. In VC, hit the jump in Washington Beach near the
police HQ and you can get a great cinematic camera view of the barrel
roll :o)

Cheers,
Rob

For the record (and the Googlers), you do need to complete driving
school before the Las Venturas Airport races become available.
