Hmm... you are much more of a GTA aficianado than I, but would you really
say the in-game shots 'look nothing' like the actual game?
I thought the GTA:SA in-games looked like the actual game on a high-res
monitor... the scenes tended to be atypically picturesque, but still, it was
perfectly recognizable as the real game, I thought.

Well I'm disappointed - NOT NY YET AGAIN. FFS!
How many times has that setting already been done in sandbox games?
Most recently Crackdown did the whole urban thing spectacularly well.
Yes I get it: Manhattan is an island, so suitable for a GTA map, but
alternatively so could Sydney be, which would have made a kick-a.s GTA
location.
FFS R*, grow some imagination pls - things have moved on!!
Tropical settings are the 'now' thing in sandboxing (FarCry, JC, TDU,
Crysis, etc). And that's what I would have wanted.
I'm still hoping the whole thing won't just take place trudging around
Manhattan, so there's hope yet. And yes, despite my bad initial
impression I'll probably play it to death. (The 'Grow A Life' building
- lol.)
But still... NY yet again ffs. =|

I should probably rephrase that. My point is that the screenshots
always have additional lighting/shadows and textures.

The trailers for the PS2 ports of LCS and VCS look as though the game
was being played on a PC.
Cheers,
Rob

Do any of you guys have an opinion on how the graphics in the GTA:IV trailer
compare with the graphics of other next-gen free roam games?
I have not played any of those games so have no idea.
