Hi,

I've been playing SA but I have to have the detail turned down to low
otherwise the game slows down because I only have a 1.8 ghz AMD
Sempron 64 processor.

I have a Micro-Star International K8N Neo Platinum motherboard. It
says on the box that it is designed for AMD Athlon 64 processors.

What processor should I buy that will fit with my motherboard, is'nt
to expensive, and will run SA well?

Is it easy to fit a new processor myself? I'm thinking that I just
have to take the old processor out and put the new one in it's place
on the motherboard. Is it that simple? I have a little experience
changing graphics cards and hard drives.

The rest of the stats on my PC are fine.

This game still looks pretty good though even with the graphics on low
but it freezes for a split second every now and again and slows down
slightly if it is raining or smokey.

The draw distance does'nt seem to make any difference to the speed of
the game. Is that normal? I have tried the lowest setting and the
highest and the speed is the same so I have it turned up full but
sometimes the road ahead looks black.

Any advice would be cool.

Thanks.

Sounds to me like you are in more of a need for a new video card rather
than a new processor...
